The Kearney Chamber of Commerce Colonels presented Hot Meals USA with the April Doing Business Award. Colonel Chair, Josh Jelden, presented the award to Richard Cochran, founder of Hot Meals USA.
Hot Meals USA, is a nonprofit organization that was launched in late 2017. Hot Meals USA serves hot meals to people affected by disasters such as fire, tornadoes, blizzards, and most recently to area flood victims. Mr. Cochran said that trained Serve Safe Certified cooks and chefs and the trailer loaded with equipment, have already been to Wood River, Gibbon, and Dannebrog, and will be going to Verdigre, Niborara, and Lynch in the near future.
To ensure that the organization can keep providing food for those in need, they must raise money to pay for the meals, which costs about $2.00 per person. If you would like to donate money to the Hot Meals USA program, you can contact Richard at 308-440-7836, or you can visit hotmealsuse.org to make a donation. All funds will be used for food.
Hot Meals USA has been a member of the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce since January of 2018.
