The Kearney Chamber of Commerce Colonels presented the Tri-City Storm with the May Doing Business Award. Colonel Chairman, Josh Jelden presented the award to Scott Allegrini, President of Business Operations for the Tri-City Storm.
The Tri-City Storm has played at the Viaero Center since the 2000-2001 season, when they were named United States Hockey League Organization of the Year for the first time. Bill Muckalt became the fifth head coach of the team and delivered a Clark Cup championship in his first season with the organization. During the 2016 Clark Cup playoffs, the Storm swept the Western Conference semifinals and captured the first Clark Cup Championship in team history after defeating the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the Clark Cup Final. Philadelphia Flyers draft pick Wade Allison was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2016 Clark Cup Playoffs.
Prior to the 2017-2018 season, Anthony Noreen was named the eighth Head Coach in the Storm’s history and led Tri-City to a berth in the Clark Cup Playoffs in his first season at the helm. During the 2018-2019 season, the Storm set multiple team and league records, and won the Anderson Cup for the 2nd time in organization history.
