2020 HOLIDAY PROMOTIONS RECAP

The Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce showcased their regular holiday promotions, although some were updated with a bit of flair! A Thankful Grand, Pledge to Gift Local, and the Holiday Reception celebrated shopping local and celebrating our members while surprising winners with awesome prizes.

A THANKFUL GRAND

The holiday shopping season was kicked off with the 'A Thankful Grand' promotion where the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce partnered with Hits106 to provide $1,000 in Buffalo Bucks to one lucky winner. The entire promotions was sponsored by a handful of wonderful chamber member businesses; we are EXTRA THANKFUL for these sponsors:

The 2020 winner of this promotion was April Nucomb who shared that she was excited to be able to provide a wonderful Christmas for her boys.

PLEDGE TO GIFT LOCAL

Next up was the Pledge to Gift Local where community members could visit the Chamber website to take the Pledge to purchase for the holidays in a local or small business to keep their dollars in Kearney. In return, 14 retail business members hosted a Facebook Live tour of their business and then drew from the Pledge entries to provide a winner with a prize valued at $50.

HOLIDAY RECEPTION

The Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce normally wraps up the year of celebrations with a Holiday Reception where the chamber provides an evening of food, drinks, and networking to thank their members. This year, the chamber was not able to hold their traditional event but still wanted to celebrate our members so they came up with an alternative - The Holiday Reception Raffle!!

"We want to continue providing a thank you to our members, especially after the year we have had, so we put our heads together and decided the best way we knew how was the shop local and give local." - Derek Rusher. The chamber sourced 40 local items from restaurant gift cards to decor to a tv, all to give away to random chamber members! The chamber staff had a great time purchasing, drawing, and giving away the items to the lucky winners.
