Get to know our Envoy chair , Denise Christensen. Denise just observed her 13th year at the Merryman Performing Arts Center. She has been involved in non-profit management for nearly 40 years and is a life-long student of the Arts. Denise is a graduate of University of Nebraska, Kearney (then Kearney State College) and with the exception of a brief post-graduate job in Boston, she has lived and worked in Kearney. She has two grown children; her son is an alum of

Texas A & M and her daughter, Madeline graduated in 2017 from UNL. When not at the theatre you will find Denise playing tennis or enjoying the new pickleball courts at Harvey Park . “I truly enjoy the Envoys as they provide an opportunity to work with women from more than 100 businesses and organizations in Kearney. We have the opportunity to learn about, then support, new businesses and promote the role the Chamber has in making Kearney a great place to live and work.”

Envoys is a women's group whose purpose is to serve as a public relations arm of the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce. Envoys host a membership mixer, they attend and promote ribbon cuttings, grand openings, Business After Hours, help with the Gateway farm Expo, and help promote Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce membership.
