The United Way of the Kearney Area kicked off their annual campaign with a Business After Hours event hosted at Midway Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram on Thursday, August 26th. It was an excellent opportunity for guests to view the dealership's remodeled showroom as well as socialize and interact with members of United Way. General Sales Manager, Heath Phillips welcomed United Way Executive Director Nikki Erickson and pointed out that this memorable event landed on the same day her new vehicle would be ready to drive home. Phillips had the recent purchase parked in the showroom as a way to add to Erickson's well-populated event. 2020-2021 Campaign Sponsor, Parker Hannifin, raffled off a rolling cooler filled with thermos cups, t-shirts, koozies, and other misc swag. The lucky winner of this raffle was Bob Huddleston of Pinnacle Bank. Beverages and food were provided by Cunningham's Journal.
The United Way Campaign season is now underway. Many individuals make pledges to United Way through their company’s employee giving campaigns. Additionally, they have the Coats for Kids event on Sept 28th and plan to distribute over 500 coats. Volunteers are welcome to participate and can call their office at (308) 237-6840 to get signed up.
