Prohibition put a stop to breweries and distilleries in the Old Market of Omaha, but thanks to head brewmaster and distiller Zac Triemert, there is a lively brewery/distillery right in the heart of the district that attracts both locals and visitors alike. Meet Brickway Brewery & Distillery, a regional favorite because of their strict standards and time tested recipes for all beers that are brewed on site. Brickway is sure to fulfill any beer lover's passion from ales to pilsners and even a great coffee stout. They also offer awesome distilled products including Whisky, rum, vodka, gin, and bourbon! All are distilled in house providing the ultimate stop on your night out.
Brickway has had some interesting events that helped give their business some new clientele. In 2018 a brewing mishap, where a clogged drain caused a huge spill on an employee, helped Brickway go viral when security footage made its way to the Today show! No worries, they say no employees were harmed. Brickway is, of course, famous for their beer, but they have a few famous spirits too, both bottled and roaming free! In 2015 a group of paranormal investigators came and visited the building, which was built in 1935. The investigators claimed to have found several sources, so if paranormal activity is your thing, be sure to make a trip to Omaha! Either way, Brickway is sure to provide a great taste and a great time whether you enjoy history or mysteries!
