On Thursday, November 3rd, the Business and Education Committee invited Jim Hoss with Cash-Wa Distributing to attend and inform us more about the hiring strategies of the company. Cash-Wa Distributing is a family-owned company that has been around since 1934. Harvey Henning purchased Cash-Wa Candy Company in 1957 and his son, Tom Henning, has been the president of Cash-Wa since 1987. They take pride in distributing high quality food products, top-of-the-line equipment, and exceptional customer service. Their latest technology, expansive warehouses with freezer and cooler spaces, and large company-owned modern fleet of trucks and trailers enable them to be both a leader and one of the top foodservice distributors in the Midwest.
Jim also brought the amazing driving simulator, seen at this year's Career Exploration Day! The portable simulator allows trainees to practice the different scenarios truck driving might throw your way. Three large screens gives each new recruit the realistic feeling of being in the driver's seat. The simulator is controlled by a Cash-Wa representative from a separate computer.
