CAREER EXPLORATION DAY 2021

Our 25th Annual Career Exploration Day kicked off on Wednesday, October 13th at 9:00 a.m. in the Kearney National Guard Armory. We had a great turnout!

Around 350 students attended, traveling from sixteen high schools across Nebraska. Kearney Schools made up 50% of attendance, with other students traveling as far as Dorchester, Nebraska, located 2 hours away from Kearney. Forty-one exhibits from local businesses participating in the event included demonstrations and hands-on exercises for students. Twelve panelists answered in-depth questions referring to categories such as business, marketing, management, education, human services, agriculture, communications, technical sciences, and health sciences.

All proceeds from registration went to the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce’s Student Leader Scholarship Fund.

Career Exploration Day is an annual event where students visit with employers to learn about and 'experience' various careers. Students also have the opportunity to visit with representatives from universities, state colleges, and community colleges, to inquire about costs and types of programs available to train for the careers they have explored.
