The Colonels presented the Doing Business Award to KAAPA Ethanol Holdings CEO Chuck Woodside, Board Chair Paul Kenney, and Board member Dan Lindstrom on Tuesday, October 8th for their amazing contribution the the Kearney community and the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce.
Chuck Woodside, CEO of KAAPA Ethanol Holdings, and Board Chair Paul Kenney addressed the group, highlighting the company's extensive expansion across multiple locations. With 180 employees stationed at plants in Kearney, Ravenna, Aurora, and an elevator in Elm Creek, they have also operated the Minden location since 2003, recently celebrating its 20th Anniversary. KAAPA Ethanol Holdings currently stands as the largest farmer-owned ethanol plant in Nebraska. Notably, Paul Kenney was a founding member of the Kearney Area Ag Producers Alliance, the sponsoring organization that successfully raised $18 million over two years. The industry was just developing at that point. Of the 200 plants in production across the nation today, KAAPA is likely in the first 20 developed.
Today, KAAPA Ethanol Holdings LLC is headquartered in a building constructed in 2020 at the site of the old Grandpa's Steakhouse just south of I-80.
