DOING BUSINESS AWARD PRESENTED TO BD CONSTRUCTION AT KEARNEY FAMILY YMCA

On September 12th, 2023, the Colonels ambassadors group, from the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce, presented BD Construction with the Doing Business Award to recognize 40 years in business and also 40 years as a valued Chamber member. BD Construction is a leading construction management and building design firm that partners with clients to construct large-scale projects ranging from hospitals and schools to manufacturing facilities and hotels.

The Colonels decided to visit the craftsmanship of BD at the recently remodeled Kearney Family YMCA. The group was able to see the final results of the lobby, office corridor, and fitness center. BD used almost 29 miles of wire on this project, used almost 750 cubic yards of concrete, and, between all trades, used over 35,000 man hours on this job! There are still additional projects ahead, but the projected completion date is early to mid-2024. CEO Ray Longoria and Membership & Marketing Director Dillon Nelson, both of the YMCA, offered guided tours of the newly renovated area including the kitchen learning classroom, child development center, various smaller workout rooms, and the large fitness center.
