The Envoys enjoyed their February meeting at The Village on Tuesday, February 1st at 4:00 p.m. Morgan Karlberg of The Village provided refreshments for everyone and spoke about the venue. They specialize in weddings specifically, but also cater to office meetings, holiday parties, birthdays, graduations, and most recently a Quinceañera. The fun thing about holding an event at The Village is the fact there is no obligated layout or rules of how to arrange the room. They enjoy seeing how creative parties can get. There’s even a Groom’s Garage equipped with bunk beds, a pool table, and mini fridge to entertain the men in the event. They offer packages that allow event coordinators to have access from Thursday evenings all the way to Sunday afternoons. Another venue they own is called The Farm, which opened March of 2021. The Farm sits on 10 acres east of Gibbon and has a 300-foot pergola unlike any other venue in Nebraska.
Amy Bettles was our Envoy Spotlight presenting us with information on Barney Financial. She spoke of the founder, Ron Eckloff, who formed the business in 1977 and quickly earned his Certified Financial Planner designation in 2002 and Behavioral Financial Advisor in 2017. This made Barney Financial the only firm with 2 financial planning certificates. They specialize in behavioral financial advice. She mentioned how they seek to build long term relationships with their clients based on trust. Amy has been with Barney Financial since 2007.
The Envoys invited a special guest to this meeting. Recipient of the 2021 Youth Friend of Kearney Award, Isabella Cao and her mother joined us. Isabella shared her involvement in different activities, her plans following high school, and special thanks for electing her as our Youth Friend of Kearney.
