How Can the Kearney Chamber Help Your Business Succeed?

Updated: Jul 7, 2020

Recently, our President/CEO Derek Rusher joined the revitalized Small Business Policy Council established under the Nebraska State Chamber of Commerce to find ways to advocate for small businesses, provide education and professional development, and focus on ways to help small businesses succeed.

Small businesses make up a large majority of Nebraska's business community and statistically contribute most new jobs within the state. Small business represents an essential segment of the membership of the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

The State Chamber Small Business Council, while recognizing the need and desirability of the State Chamber to represent the interests of all businesses in Nebraska, also recognizes the fact that there are issues which uniquely impact small businesses.

The State Chamber Small Business Council will evaluate and recommend policy positions to the State Chamber Board of Directors on issues which impact mainly upon small businesses, and on issues which are likely to affect those small businesses differently than other sectors of the business community. The Council will also act as a forum for the exchange of views and information that the State Chamber small business members wish to share.

Our reason for sharing this information is to ask our small business members what the Small Business Policy Council can do for you? What kind of professional development would benefit you that the partnership between the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce and State Chamber's Small Business Policy Council provide? Please reach out to Derek at drusher@kearneycoc.org to share your input. Our small business sector is an important part of the community and we want to continue helping your business succeed.
