JOB FAIR AT THE CHAMBER!

Updated: Jul 30, 2021

As a response to the increasing demand for workforce in the Kearney/Buffalo County area, the Economic Development Council of Buffalo County, Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce, Kearney Visitors Bureau, and Kearney Works worked together to host a job fair for area employers. Being able to help out area businesses in any way we can, big or small shows our support for them. We had over 25 employers participate in person and over a dozen businesses sending flyers of open positions. Over 70 potential employees attended the one-day event and had a chance to do on-site interviews with any of the 25 businesses. Attendees were from all across central Nebraska.

This is just one part of solving the workforce crisis. With unemployment under 2%, we have to have a comprehensive approach to recruiting, retaining, and growing trained talent in the Kearney area.

The businesses that participated were:

Advance Services; Ashley Homestore; Associated Staffing Incorporated; Buffalo County Sheriff's Office; Builders; Central Nebraska Veterans' Home; CHI Health Good Samaritan; Children & Adolescent Clinic, P.C.; Eaton; Essential Personal; Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska; KAAPA Ethanol Holdings, LLC; Kearney Public Schools; Kearney Urology; Kirkland Construction Inc; Kearney Regional Medical Center; KSO CPAs + Advisors; LOCOSTA Facility Support Services; McDonald's; Michael Foods; Midlands Contracting, Inc; Midway Auto Dealerships; Mosaic of Axtell; Nebraska Central Telephone Company; Nebraska Department of Transportation; New Victorian Inn & Suites; Old Chicago; Parker Hannifin; Pathway Design Group; Qdoba; Raising Canes; RMV Construction; Taco Bell; TBK Transmissions; Trius Federal Credit Union; the University of Nebraska at Kearney; Viaero Wireless; West Pharmaceutical; Yellow Van; Younes Hospitality
