Kearney Area Ag Producers Alliance hosted their Ribbon Cutting ceremony on Monday, June 3rd. KAAPA Coop is a farmer-owned, new generation cooperative with about 500 members whose agricultural operations span nearly one million acres in Nebraska.
One of KAAPA’s earliest initiatives was pursuing the production of quality paper pulp from corn stover. Usage of this byproduct provides additional revenue for KAAPA Coop members while limiting the depletion of our nation’s forests.
In 2003, an ethanol plant was built in Minden, NE to generate over 50 million gallons of ethanol each year. KAAPA Ethanol provides a new and reliable market for corn and diminishes the need for foreign fuel.
KAAPA Coop’s main office is at 906 E. 25th St. and can be reached by phone: 308-234-2712 or email: admin@kaapa.com. If you are interested in learning more or becoming a member, click here!
