Kearney Crossroads Mission Avenue opened new transitional housing called The Lodge and celebrated its opening with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony!
The Lodge is a new transitional housing facility in Kearney. The completion of this project will provide transitional housing allowing guests to take their next steps towards recovery while having close access to supportive services. It provides dormitory-style housing for women in coordination with the State of Nebraska Probation, Drug, Court, and Parole.
Executive Director Daniel Buller is proud of the state of the art campus located in Kearney that will help to set the example for surrounding communities of how to truly care for the homeless and offer programs and opportunities to stop the cycles of poverty. Kearney is far ahead of communities around the nation that are facing hardships due to poverty and homelessness in communities. Since opening in 2012, Crossroads has served over 2,000 people in Buffalo County by providing more than 139,000 nights of stay for those in need.
Crossroads Mission Avenue was started in 1983 with a desire to help the hungry and needy. It started out as a soup kitchen, serving one meal a day. Now, Crossroads provides unparalleled services and has evolved into a state-of-the-art facility. Not only can those in need find a bed and meal, but also find assistance through Crossroads’ 4-Phase Recovery Program and Personalized Case Management.
