A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on November 9th to help celebrate the opening of the Hanny Arram Center for Success, located at 3907 6th Avenue.
The Hanny Arram Center for Success focuses on improving educational opportunities with specific targeted support for KPS students in grades 6-12. The Center offers a variety of flexible alternative educational programs, therapeutic support, support for suspended students, and a 6-12 virtual academy. Over time, the KPS will bring school and community resources together in this facility for the support of students and families both in Kearney and across central Nebraska.
The new facility is named after the late Hanny Arram because of his love for helping others and the family's close partnership with KPS. “The success of the students in our community is success for our community," said Director of the Arram Family Foundation Nadia Arram Saadi. “My brother was the type of person who loved to help people and he loved to help them in the most unconventional ways. He would be very excited about this center and about what it has to offer."
In the future, KPS plans to involve the community for additional education opportunities.
