On March 11th we celebrated Kearney Jubilee Center: Thrift Store's new location with a Ribbon Cutting ceremony! The address is 1920 Central Avenue.
For more than 20 years, Kearney Jubilee Center has devoted its energy to passionately advocating for the hungry, needy and politically under-represented members of our community family. Find out how you can contribute to the future of someone in need through donations of time, talent and treasure.
Kearney Jubilee Center is a non profit, ecumenical, community-based organization aimed at providing the most basic of human needs while advocating for social justice. We strive to maintain client dignity while offering supportive services in the areas of food, clothing, rent and utility assistance and medication assistance.
We are committed to providing compassionate help that allows people to make decisions from a position of safety, health, and grace. Recognizing the struggle to acquire the most basic of human needs, we can best use God’s gifts through the Kearney Jubilee Center to reach anyone in need regardless of their present circumstances in life.
Our rescue food table is open to the community and consists of fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, sweet rolls, and canned goods. These items are donated by local grocers and we offer our thanks to Apple Market, Target, Hy-Vee, Raising Cane’s, Panera Bread, and Starbucks for supplying these foods that our friends and neighbors might not have otherwise.
Thrift Store is always accepting donations. Community dinners are hosted on select Monday evenings and every Thursday evening. Sponsoring churches around the Kearney area take turns hosting the dinners.
Our Free Community Dinners program has been a well-known, long-standing tradition at the Kearney Jubilee Center. Thursday night meals are held at one of our partner churches. We would like to thank our hosts for their willingness to provide a much needed communal space.
Hosts: First Lutheran Church, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, First Presbyterian Church, Kearney Church of Christ, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church
Together you have donated and served over 3,000 meals in 2017!
