The Cup celebrated their recently remodeled establishment and new menu offerings with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, July 14th.
Alissa Kern-Pierce and husband Ryan Pierce originally opened the doors of The Cup in December of 2020. They launched their new establishment with varieties of coffee, smoothies, and Italian sodas. Eventually, they added a small kitchen to offer light meals, such as salads and sandwiches, while creating extra room to store supplies and ingredients. Acquiring their liquor license allowed them to attract an even larger crowd. A wide variety of wines, spirits, beers, and
other alcoholic beverages are available, perfect for those who love their 7a.m. Irish coffee.
The selection of drinks offered is sure to satisfy any customer. The new barista menu features distinct flavors of cold brews, lattes, frappes, chai’s, loose leaf teas, and extra fun drinks called cup fillers, such as the Spotted Cow, a blended cookies & cream drink. However, what sets The Cup apart from other establishments is their concentration on bringing zero proof spirits, as well as wine, to the downtown Kearney area.
Their “mocktails” go beyond the typical Shirley Temple and offer a full menu of drinks that can be ordered as either alcoholic or non-alcoholic. To enhance the unique experience, anything on the menu can be ordered to your allergen or nutrition preference, whether its vegan, dairy-free, or gluten free. The variety of items available range from yogurt parfaits, Maple Mayo sandwiches, “Not Tuna” Salad Pita, which features chickpeas, and even a create your own charcuterie plate where you can pick from assortments of cheeses, meats, crackers, chocolates, olives, cookies, and mixed nuts.
To ensure customers are getting the finest product, Kern-Pierce obtains 100% Arabic coffee beans from Coffee 4 Missions, a nonprofit organization who donates 20% of its sales to Christian ministries from countries contributing to the growth and harvest of the beans.
