SENIOR COALITION VISIT KEARNEY FAMILY YMCA - HARD HATS ON!

On March 28th, the Senior Coalition took a tour of the new expansion and renovations at Kearney Family YMCA. Construction is still underway as they add 30,000 square feet to the facility. Each group that toured the new areas were required to wear hard hats. Dillon Nelson and Ray Longoria escorted each group through the swimming pool area to a back office which led them to the new addition. This location revealed the new check in desk, wellness center, and a learning kitchen right off the main entrance, along with other activity rooms meant for staff offices, services and classes. Additional seating will also be incorporated in areas of the expansion allowing members to relax as they wait for programs to begin.

The facility expects to open the fitness area to the public sometime this summer, allowing them to shift construction to the upstairs projects. Final completion is anticipated for September of 2023.

A virtual walkthrough of the proposed future Y home is available below. Their continued growth with the community and the needs placed in front of them, they felt it was time for "home" renovation. With new programs and increasing membership numbers, this proposed plan will help them create space for more programs and ever-growing opportunities for individuals of all ages.
